Mirehouse & Gardens

Mirehouse & Gardens is a family home set within beautifully landscaped grounds near Bassenthwaite Lake. Children are actively welcomed and can explore four sheltered woodland adventure playgrounds before tackling the wheelchair-accessible heather path maze in the Bee Garden. The tearoom specialises in homemade Cumbrian cooking using excellent local suppliers, with comfortable seating and live piano music creating a relaxed atmosphere. The gardens feature historic plantings including Scots pines from the 1780s, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, and a central avenue of ornamental trees, alongside a rose-covered verandah and nectar-rich flowers for bees.
