Thirlmere Recreation Hall
Keswick, GB
Thirlmere Recreation Hall is perfectly situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, located at the northern end of Thirlmere at the foot of Helvellyn, England's third highest peak. Originally built in 1940 as the Mission Hall for workers constructing the Haweswater Dam, the hall was gifted to the community to enhance local amenities. Today it serves as a vibrant community hub, hosting ceilidhs, whist drives, weddings, exhibitions and the annual Thirlmere Flower Show, held every first Saturday in August since 1949. The hall remains home to the Thirlmere WI and various local groups. Available for hire by the hour or for overnight stays as indoor camping, it provides an ideal base for walks and gatherings.
